  The beautiful scenery of Summers County and the playfulness of the water attract people from near and far. The put-in is not too far from Beckley, as you can see on the road map further down. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often easier than elsewhere, so don't forget that a lot of the rivers here are suitable for beginners. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just being out on the river for a while are sure to keep you coming back for more. If you'll be staying in a hotel you're in luck, lodging is available very near the river,
    but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The Madams Creek Road to New River stretch of Madams Creek in Summers County is 2 miles long and has been rated as a class III+(IV) section by American Whitewater. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or
kayaking this area has a large number of paddling spots. This is a bit of a short stretch so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. The Madams Creek Road to New River section is the only paddling section along Madams Creek.

Briefly about the general area:
The high level of precipitation makes Madams Creek a reasonably wet site; the month with most of the rain is July, and February on the other hand is the driest. A visit to Madams Creek wouldn't be complete
 
without taking a look at Alum Spring.
Summer at Madams Creek comes with high temperatures in the 80's, and during the night it cools down to the 50's. During the winter highs are generally in the 30's, and all through the dark hours in the wintertime at Madams Creek temperatures sink to the 10's.
