The scenic beauty of West Virginia and the cool fresh water will make you feel great. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, there are lots of good rivers for that around here. The put-in is not too far from Oak Hill, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in West Virginia is often easier     than elsewhere, so better not forget that rivers here are not as hard as elsewhere. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. The Confluence with Glade Creek to Confluence with New River stretch is one of a few paddling stretches in this river system. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. This section is quite short so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. A good workout and spending some quality time in nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. Briefly about the general area: Manns Creek sees pretty high levels of rainfall; the month with most of the rain is July while February is regularly the driest month. All through the summer months at Manns Creek highs are regularly   in the 80's with night lows in the 60's. For the period of the winter the highs are typically in the 40's, and overnight lows at Manns Creek through the winter mostly plunge into the 20's.
