If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside West Virginia you might find the rivers here a bit more manageable, so better not forget that a lot of the rivers here are suitable for beginners. This is not the only paddling section in this river system, there are others too. If you're coming from Oak Hill it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further     down the page. The nature scenery of West Virginia and the playfulness of the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so why not pack your camp stove too. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, there are lots of good spots for that around here. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are sure to keep you coming back for more. Briefly about the general area: For the period of the summertime, highs ordinarily are in the 80's at Meadow River. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 60's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 40's; overnight lows all through the wintertime for Meadow River tend to be in the 20's. Meadow River gets a good   deal of water; July is the wettest month with most rain; the driest month of the year is February. The Loop is a wonderful site to pop by while in the vicinity.
