The nature scenery of West Virginia and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream make the trip here worthwhile. If you're coming from Oak Hill it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, as you can see on the road map further down. There are nice comfortable     hotels here, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. This stretch has has enough mileage, suitable for an afternoon trip. There are plenty of other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling rivers. The Nallen to Route 19 Bridge section of Meadow River in West Virginia is 5 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class III-IV section. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. Briefly about the general area: Go for a hike on the Carnifex Trail. Summertime highs at Meadow River usually tend to be in the 80's. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 60's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 40's, and nighttime lows in   the 20's for Meadow River.
