The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in West Virginia are often easier than in other states, so better not forget that rivers here are not as hard as elsewhere. Briefly about the general area: All the water falling down from the sky makes Middle Fork a wet spot; during July this area sees the most rain while October is the month with the least amount of precipitation. At Middle Fork all through the days of summer highs are in the 80's while overnight lows are frequently in the 50's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 30's with temperatures at Middle Fork dipping down into the 10's all through winter nights.
