CLASS II-III 12.4 miles
The beautiful scenery of West Virginia and the cool fresh water attract people from near and far. The Adolph to confluence with Long Run section of Middle Fork is 12.4 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II-III section. You can enjoy this section more if you take your time, so pack your sleeping bag. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. There are a few other sections in this river system that can be paddled
as well. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of places for that. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more forgiving, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that
the rivers in this state are less demanding. Getting some good exercise and just being out on the river for a while are sure to keep you coming back for more. The campgrounds here at Middle Fork are pretty good.
