Whitewater rafting and kayaking in West Virginia is often easier than elsewhere, so if you're not from around here don't forget that a large number of rivers in this state are quite easy. This stretch of Muddlety Creek in Nicholas County is 4.5 miles long and has been rated as a class III-IV section by American Whitewater. If you're coming from Oak Hill it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. of Nicholas County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water make the trip here worthwhile. The West Virginia 41 to Summersville Lake section is the only paddling section along Muddlety Creek. This is a pretty decent length section, good for a one day paddling trip. No need
| to look hard for hotels, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good spots. Getting a good workout and just being out on the river for a while will have you coming back for more.

Muddlety Creek is a wet place that gets a great deal of rainfall; the month with most of the rain is July, and February is when it's the driest.
