West Virginia whitewater - Otter Creek, Randolph / Tucker County
Randolph / Tucker
county,
to Big Spring Gap section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.
CLASS IV-V(V+) 9 miles
The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit easier to master in this state than those in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that many of the rivers here are not very demanding. This is one of a small number of paddling sections in this river system, there are a few others too. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling places. This stretch is mid length, suitable for an afternoon trip. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. A good workout and just
hanging out with mother nature are great reasons to come. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The wonderful Randolph / Tucker County scenery and the
water flowing gracefully down Otter Creek attract people from near and far.

Hiking along the Otter Creek Trail is great fun, and a tremendous location to take a look at nearby is Devils Gulch. All the water falling down from the sky makes Otter Creek a wet site; July
is the wettest month with most rain; February on the other hand is the driest. Going for a hike along the Green Mountain Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood.
