The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often easier than in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that lots of rivers here are good for beginners. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, it's good length for a morning trip. Since you're on this site you are     probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way there are lots of good places for that around here. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. There are some good stretches to paddle in this river system, the Westerly to Burnwell stretch is one of them. Getting a good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors have people coming from far and near. Briefly about the general area: During the warm months, highs usually are in the 80's at Paint Creek. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down   into the 60's. High temperatures during the wintertime are normally in the 40's with temperatures at Paint Creek dipping down into the 20's throughout winter nights. Paint Creek is a rather wet place regularly with a large amount of rainfall; July is the wettest month with most rain while January is frequently the driest month.
