This stretch of Panther Creek in Nicholas County is 3.3 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class III-IV section. The campgrounds here at Panther Creek are pretty good. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of spots for that. This section is quite short so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. Panther Creek     doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the Confluence with Jim's Branch to confluence with Gauley River section is the only one. The scenic beauty of Nicholas County and the playfulness of the water will make you feel great. A bit of exercise and spending some quality time in nature are great attractions for lots of people. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set.
