The County 22 bridge to mouth stretch of Peters Creek in Nicholas County is 2.5 miles long and is a class II-III+(V+) section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often easier than elsewhere, so don't forget that lots of rivers here are good for beginners. This stretch is short so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. The scenic beauty of West Virginia and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The campgrounds here
at Peters Creek are pretty good. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good spots for that around here. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might
end up sleeping in your car. There are no other stretches to paddle along Peters Creek than the County 22 bridge to mouth stretch. Getting a good workout and spending some quality time in nature have people coming from far and near.

Creek without first checking out Koontz Bend; Koontz Flume Rapids is a magnificent local attraction. This river is so good. Lower Mash Rapids is always fun to check out, and hiking along the Way Back Trail is pleasant fun.
