Whitewater rafting and kayaking in West Virginia is often easier than elsewhere, so don't forget that quite a few of the sections here are pretty easy. The Beckley to McCreery section of Piney Creek in Raleigh County is 12 miles long and it is classified as a class III-V section by American Whitewater. Getting your paddling muscles activated and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great reasons to come. If you hurry you can run
this stretch in a day but why not make it an overnighter, so go ahead and pack your camp stove. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. There are some good hotels near the river, and if you make reservations in
