The put-in location is a short drive from Bluefield, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more forgiving, so you'd     better keep in mind that many of the rivers here are not very demanding. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so pack your camping stuff. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good spots. A bit of exercise and spending some quality time in nature will make you glad you came. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. This section of Pinnacle Creek in West Virginia is 11 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class I-III section. Briefly about the general area: All through the days of summer at Pinnacle Creek highs are usually in the 80's. For the period of the moonlight hours it's ordinarily in the 60's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 40's, and winter nights   come with lows in the 20's to Pinnacle Creek. Pinnacle Creek is a rather wet place frequently with a good deal of rainfall; July is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month is October.
