- North Branch is 7.5 miles long and has been rated as a class I-II section by American Whitewater. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. You can
pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. There are plenty of other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. The wonderful Mineral WV Allegany MD County scenery and the water flowing gracefully down Potomac River - North Branch beats anything. This is a pretty decent length section, you can easily run it on an afternoon.
