The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often easier than in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many runs in this state are very easy. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. There are so many stretches to paddle in this river system, the US 220 to     Big Bend Campground stretch is just one of many. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. This is a pretty decent length section, suitable for an afternoon trip. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way there are lots of good spots for that around here. Getting some good exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great attractions for lots of people. Briefly about the general area: A short tour to Hermit Island Spring is always worthwhile, and don't leave Potomac River - South Branch without first going for a hike along the South Branch Trail.
