The Above Falls to Cheat River stretch of Pringle Run in West Virginia is 0.5 miles long and is a class IV-V+ section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river     if you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The scenic beauty of Preston County and the water flowing gracefully down Pringle Run are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. This is an extremely short section so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. The campgrounds here at Pringle Run are pretty good. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling places. Pringle Run doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the Above Falls to Cheat River section is the only one. Briefly about the general area: At Pringle Run during the summer months highs are in the 80's. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 60's. Daytime highs during the winter are in   the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Pringle Run. The amount of rain that falls at Pringle Run is close to the national average; throughout the month of July you get the most rain around here, and the driest month is February.
