or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, around here you'll find a large number of good spots. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car.
Briefly about the general area: Good hiking is available along the Limerock Trail. Through the long summer days at Red Run highs are ordinarily in the 80's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 50's. During the wintertime highs are regularly in the 30's with temperatures at Red Run dipping down into the 10's during winter nights.
Red Run sees pretty high levels of precipitation; July is the month that gets the most rain, and February is the month with the least moisture. Lester Falnagan Spring is a charming location to explore while you're at Red Run; you can go for a hike on the Mountain Side Trail.
