The natural beauty of West Virginia and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream have people coming here. This section of Roaring Creek is 6.1 miles long and is a class IV section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling rivers. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, you can easily run it on an afternoon. Getting a good workout and just being out on the river for a while have people coming from far and
near. There's camping available near Roaring Creek. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often
easier than elsewhere, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that rivers here are less demanding.
Briefly about the general area: Roaring Creek gets a lot of water; July is the wettest month with most rain; February is the month with the least moisture. At this river you will never have a bad time. All through the summertime highs here at Roaring Creek get into the 80's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 50's. For the duration of the winter this place gets highs in the 30's, and night lows through the winter for Roaring
Creek tend to be in the 10's. Lester Falnagan Spring is a pretty place to have a look at while you're at Roaring Creek, and the Bennet Rock Trail is a tremendous hiking trail nearby. A short trip to Kent Lambert Spring is always worthwhile, and if the weather is good, you can go for a hike along the Green Mountain Trail.
