The scenic beauty of West Virginia and the cool fresh water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. A good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great reasons to come. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. This is a somewhat short section so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. The Confluence of Boggs Run to Confluence of Spring Creek stretch of Robbins Run is 2.8 miles long and has
been determined by American Whitewater to be a class III section. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more forgiving, so don't forget that a lot of the rivers here are suitable for beginners. No matter if you're
whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good rivers for that around here. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. This is the only paddling stretch along Robbins Run.
Briefly about the general area: Don't leave Robbins Run without first paying a visit to Vesper Lewis Spring; nearby you hit upon the Big Run Trail which is a wonderful hiking trail. At Robbins Run throughout the long summer days highs are in the 80's. Summer overnight lows plunge down to the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 40's,
and nighttime lows in the 10's for Robbins Run. Clifford Brown Spring is an inspiring site to check out while you're here. The high level of precipitation makes Robbins Run a quite wet place; of all the months in a year July is the one with the most rain; the driest month of the year is January.
