This section of Second Creek in West Virginia is 8.2 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class I-III section. The wonderful West Virginia scenery and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. There are some good stretches to paddle in this river system, the Hollywood to US 219 bridge stretch is one of them.
You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this is an area with plenty of spots for that. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels
fill up quick. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. Getting some good exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are great attractions for lots of people. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in West Virginia tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so you'd better keep in mind that rivers here are less demanding. On this section you do get some distance, you can easily run it on an afternoon.
