Says Engle This section of Sleepy Creek - Meadow Branch is 9.9 miles long and has been rated as a class II-V section by American Whitewater. The natural beauty of Berkeley/ Morgan County and the playfulness of the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so keep in mind that lots     of rivers here are good for beginners. The campgrounds here at Sleepy Creek - Meadow Branch are pretty good. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. The starting point is not too far from Hagerstown-Martinsburg, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. On this section you do get some distance, suitable for an afternoon trip. This river system has a few good paddling stretches and the Sleepy Creek Dam to CR9 section is one of them.
