This stretch of Sugar Creek in Webster County is 1.8 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class II-III(IV) section. The Confluence of Little Sugar Creek to confluence of Back Fork of Elk section is the only paddling section along Sugar Creek. This is a somewhat short section so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. Great exercise and just being out on the river for     a while will make you glad you came. The scenic beauty of West Virginia and the playfulness of the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this is an area with plenty of places for that.
