The Confluence of Little Sugar Creek to confluence of Back Fork of Elk stretch of Sugar Creek in Webster County is 1.8 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class II-III(IV) section. Sugar Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the Confluence of Little Sugar Creek to confluence of Back Fork of Elk section is the only one.
There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Great exercise and just hanging out with mother nature have people coming from far and near. This is a
short paddling stretch so better bring some good walking shoes. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots.
