This stretch of Teter Creek in West Virginia is 4 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class IV section. The put-in is not too far from Morgantown, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. A bit of exercise and spending some quality time in nature have people coming from far and near. There are campgrounds quite near the     river where you can camp. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. On this section you do get some distance, you can easily run it on an afternoon. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good spots. The beautiful scenery of West Virginia and the water flowing gracefully down Teter Creek beats anything. There are no other stretches to paddle along Teter Creek than the Nestorville to Tygart River stretch. Briefly about the general area: Teter Creek is a reasonably wet place regularly with a lot of rainfall; July is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest of the months is February. For the period of the warm months highs here at Teter Creek get into the 80's, and during   summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. Through the wintertime highs are mostly in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Teter Creek.
