This section of Teter Creek in West Virginia is 4 miles long and has been rated as a class IV section by American Whitewater. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors will have you coming back for more. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but do book a room     before you come because it is a very popular destination. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Morgantown, as you can see on the road map further down. The beautiful scenery of West Virginia and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. This is a pretty decent length section, you can easily run it on an afternoon. The Nestorville to Tygart River section is the only paddling section along Teter Creek. Briefly about the general area: Lots of rainfall falls at Teter Creek; July is the wettest month with most rain, and February is the month with the least moisture. For the duration of the summer months at Teter Creek temperatures are generally in the 80's, and through the night it cools down to the 60's.
