The beautiful scenery of Pendleton County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream beats anything. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. A good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors will have you coming back for more. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling spots. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in West     Virginia is often easier than elsewhere, so keep in mind that the rivers in this state are less demanding. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. This is a pretty short section so better bring some good walking shoes. This is the only paddling stretch along Waites Run. Briefly about the general area: Go for a hike on the Little Allegheny Trail. Good hiking is available along the Allegheny Trail It's always good to pop by Falls Of Seneca. The high level of rain makes Waites Run a rather wet spot; of all the months in a year July is the one with the most rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. High temperatures at Waites Run through the summer months   are in the 80's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 50's. Through the wintertime this place gets highs in the 30's, and night lows at Waites Run during the winter typically fall into the 10's.
