If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more forgiving, so if you're not from around here don't forget that many of the sections here are safe for beginners. The put-in location is a short drive from Morgantown, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. A bit of exercise and spending some quality time in nature are great attractions for lots of people.

Monongalia Marion County is 10.7 miles long and has been rated as a class I-III section by American Whitewater. The campgrounds here at Whiteday Creek are pretty good. If you hurry you can run this section in a day but why not make it an overnighter, so go ahead and pack your camp stove. There are no other stretches to paddle along Whiteday Creek than the Confluence of Cherry Run to Monongahela River stretch.
