This section of Williams River is 11 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class III-IV section of whitewater. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so don't forget that quite a few of the sections here are pretty easy. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. You can enjoy this stretch more if you take your time, so pack your sleeping bag. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. There are
a few other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. The nature scenery of Pocahontas/Webster County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water make the trip here worthwhile. Great exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are sure to keep you coming

Briefly about the general area: The high level of precipitation makes Williams River a pretty wet spot; July is the month that gets the most rain; October is when it's the driest. At Williams River all through the long summer days highs are in the 80's while nighttime lows are generally in the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's, and after the sun is down through the
winter temperatures at Williams River sink into the 10's. Going for a hike along the County Line Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood; if the weather is nice, you can go for a hike along the Big Beechy Trail.
