There are some good stretches to paddle in this river system, the Little Falls stretch is one of them. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Wisconsin tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so if you're not from around here don't forget that a lot of the rivers here are suitable for beginners. A bit of exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are great attractions for lots of people. This stretch of Apple River is 4 miles long and is a class II section     of whitewater according to American Whitewater. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a pretty small number of paddling places. This is a pretty decent length section, suitable for an afternoon trip. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. The campgrounds here at Apple River are pretty good. Briefly about the general area: Through the summer at Apple River highs are frequently in the 80's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 50's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 20's while Apple River night low temperatures throughout the winter are in the-10's.
