The Cayuga to Foster Junction railroad bridge stretch of Bad River in Wisconsin is 7.1 miles long and is a class II-III(IV) section of whitewater according to American     Whitewater. There are plenty of other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. This stretch has has enough mileage, it's perfect for a one day trip. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good places for that around here. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. The Gogebic Range scenery is wonderful. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Getting a good workout and just being out on the river for a while are sure to keep you coming back for more. The beautiful scenery of Ashland County and the cool fresh water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. Briefly about the general area: The yearly rain here at Bad   River is about average; during the month of August you get the most rain around here, and February is the month with the least moisture. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to Bad River. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 50's.
