The beautiful scenery of Ashland County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream make the trip here worthwhile. The sections     for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Wisconsin are often more forgiving than in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that the rivers in this state are less demanding. A bit of exercise and spending some quality time in nature will have you coming back for more. On this section you do get some distance, suitable for an afternoon trip. The river winds through the Gogebic Range and you get great scenery. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car.
