The Highway 169 to Devil's Gate footbridge section of Bad River is 6.2 miles long and has been rated as a class III-V section by American Whitewater. There are so many stretches to paddle in this river system, the Highway 169 to Devil's Gate footbridge stretch is just one of many. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, it's good length for a morning trip.     The Gogebic Range scenery is wonderful. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more forgiving, so you'd better keep in mind that many runs in this state are very easy. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great reasons to come. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling places. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Briefly about the general area: Put some time aside to spend at Copper Falls since you're here at Bad River, and Brownstone Falls is a perfect local attraction. During the summer months, highs mostly are in the 80's at Bad River. All through the moonlight hours it's typically in the 50's.
