The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often easier than in other states, so don't forget that rivers here are less demanding. The beautiful scenery of Wisconsin and the water flowing gracefully down Big Rib River attract people from near and far. The Highway 64 to Greiner Road stretch of Big Rib River in Taylor/Lincoln County is 2.45 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II section. There's camping available near Big Rib River. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations
in advance you're all set. If you're coming from Wausau it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. The Highway 64 to Greiner Road stretch is the only paddling stretch along Big Rib River. No
matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you won't find a large number of other rivers. This section is quite short so no need to bring snacks. Getting your paddling muscles activated and spending some quality time in nature are great attractions for lots of people.
