The Highway 64 to Greiner Road stretch of Big Rib River in Taylor/Lincoln County is 2.45 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II section. There's camping available near Big Rib River. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations     in advance you're all set. If you're coming from Wausau it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. The Highway 64 to Greiner Road stretch is the only paddling stretch along Big Rib River. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you won't find a large number of other rivers. This section is quite short so no need to bring snacks. Getting your paddling muscles activated and spending some quality time in nature are great attractions for lots of people. Briefly about the general area: The yearly rain here at Big Rib River is about average; the wettest month of the year is frequently September, that's the one that rains the most, and February meanwhile is the driest month. The warmest time of the year brings   highs in the 70's to Big Rib River, and throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 50's.
