Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Wisconsin tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so keep in mind that many of the rivers here are not very demanding. The nature scenery of Wisconsin and the cool fresh water make the trip here worthwhile. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while will have you coming back for more. This section is very short so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. Black Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the Athens City Park to Pioneer Road stretch is the only one. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, around here you won't find a large number of other spots.
