If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Wisconsin you might find the rivers here a bit more manageable, so better not forget that a lot of the rivers here are suitable for beginners. The scenic beauty of Florence County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream make the trip here worthwhile. If you're coming from Iron Mountain it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, as you can see on the road map further down. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in
advance because these hotels fill up quick. This stretch of Brule River in Wisconsin is 3.4 miles long and is a class II-III section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The campgrounds here at Brule River are pretty good. Since you're on this site you are probably into
whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of spots for that. This is one of a small number of paddling sections in this river system, there are a few others too. This is a pretty short section so better bring some good walking shoes.
Briefly about the general area: Summertime highs at Brule River mostly tend to be in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 50's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 20's; night lows through the winter for Brule River tend to be in the-10's. The yearly precipitation here at Brule River is about average; June is when you get the most rain here, and February is when it's the driest.
