If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more forgiving, so keep in mind that many of the sections here are safe for beginners. The put-in location is a short drive from Milwaukee-Waukesha-West Allis, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. If you'll be staying in a hotel you're in luck, lodging is available very near the river, but you'd better reserve in advance     because these hotels fill up quick. Getting a good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors have a lot of people coming here. This is the only paddling section along Cedar Creek. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good places. This is a pretty short section so better bring some good walking shoes. The Cedarburg City Park section of Cedar Creek in Ozaukee County is 2.3 miles long and has been rated as a class II-III section by American Whitewater. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. Briefly about the general area: Cedar Creek is a good site of common rainfall; the wettest month of the year is frequently September, that's the one that rains the most; February is when it's the driest. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to Cedar Creek, and   during the night it cools down to the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 20's; night lows at Cedar Creek all through the wintertime generally sink into the 0's.
