Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Wisconsin are easier than the national norm, so you'd better keep in mind that the rivers in this state are less demanding. This stretch of Eau Claire River is 1.4 miles long and has been rated as a class II-III+ section by American Whitewater. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but if you     don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way there are not so many other good rivers for that around here. This is a very short stretch so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. A good workout and just hanging out with mother nature will have you coming back for more. The nature scenery of Eau Claire County and the cool fresh water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle.
