This stretch of Montreal River in Iron County is 3.2 miles long and it is classified as a class II-IV(V) section by American Whitewater. Whitewater paddling here in the Gogebic Range is a great experience. The nature scenery of Iron County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream will make you feel great. This is not the only paddling section     in this river system, there are others too. Great exercise and spending some quality time in nature have a lot of people coming here. No shortage of good hotels, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling rivers. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. This is a bit of a short stretch so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. Briefly about the general area: Montreal River is a good place of typical rainfall; the month of June is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month of the year is February. Throughout the months of summer at Montreal River highs are typically in the 70's, and throughout   summer nights temperatures are in the 50's.
