The average Wisconsin whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be easier to run than those in other states, so keep in mind that rivers here are less demanding. The put-in location is a short drive from Iron Mountain, as you can see on the road map further down. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular     destination. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just being out on the river for a while are great reasons to come. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, around here you'll find a large number of good spots. The beautiful scenery of Marinette County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are reasons enough to come here and paddle. This section is quite short so no need to bring snacks. There are plenty of other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. Briefly about the general area: Peshtigo River sits in the shade of the Taylor Rapids, and do put some time aside to spend at Strong Falls if you're here at Peshtigo River. Throughout the warm months, highs commonly are in the 70's at Peshtigo River, and all through the night it cools   down to the 50's. For the duration of the wintertime this place gets highs in the 20's, and winter nights come with lows in the-10's to Peshtigo River. Peshtigo River gets a typical amount of rain; the wettest month of the year is regularly September, that's the one that rains the most; the driest of the months is February.
