The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Iron Mountain, as you can see on the road map further down. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. The Goodman Park to Otter Creek section of Peshtigo River is 8.9 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class I-II section. This is a pretty decent length section, good for a one day paddling trip. The Goodman Park to Otter Creek section is one of many paddling sections in this river system. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Briefly about the general area: Peshtigo River gets a normal amount of rainfall; of all the months in a year September is the one with the most rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation.   Don't leave Peshtigo River without first paying a visit to Wilson Rapids. High temperatures at Peshtigo River through the summer are in the 70's. Summer overnight lows plunge down to the 50's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 20's while Peshtigo River night low temperatures during the winter are in the-10's.
