The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Iron Mountain, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. This section of Peshtigo River in Marinette County is 8.9 miles long and is a class I-II section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. This is a pretty decent length section,     suitable for an afternoon trip. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. A good workout and just hanging out with mother nature will make you glad you came. This river system is full of great paddling sections, the Goodman Park to Otter Creek section is just one of them. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way there are lots of good spots for that around here. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more forgiving, so don't forget that rivers here are not as hard as elsewhere. Briefly about the general area: Summer at Peshtigo River arrives with high temperatures in the 70's, and the nighttime is rather colder of course, frequently in the 50's. Highs throughout the winter are generally in the   20's; after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Peshtigo River plunge into the-10's. Wilson Rapids is a glorious local attraction. Peshtigo River gets a normal amount of yearly rainfall; September is the wettest month with most rain while February is mostly the driest month.
