The put-in is not too far from Milwaukee-Waukesha-West Allis, as you can see on the road map further down. The beautiful scenery of Waukesha County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. This section of Pewaukee River in Waukesha County is 1.6 miles long and is a class I-II section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. Pewaukee River doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the Pewaukee to Waukesha section is the only one. Getting a good workout and spending some
quality time in nature are great reasons to come. There are many good hotels to choose from, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more
forgiving than the national average, so if you're not from around here don't forget that rivers here are not as hard as elsewhere. This is a bit of a short stretch so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling spots.
