The Pewaukee to Waukesha stretch of Pewaukee River is 1.6 miles long and has been rated as a class I-II section by American Whitewater. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Wisconsin is often easier than elsewhere, so if you're not from around here don't forget that many runs in this state are very easy. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just hanging out with mother nature are great attractions for lots of people. You might be into whitewater
rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this area has a large number of paddling rivers. The starting location is a short drive from Milwaukee-Waukesha-West Allis, as you can see on the road map further down. Pewaukee River doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the Pewaukee
to Waukesha section is the only one. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. This is a somewhat short section so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over.
Briefly about the general area: Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Pewaukee River. When the night sets in temperatures drop down into the 60's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 20's while Pewaukee River overnight low temperatures during the winter are in the 10's. The beauty of mother nature reveals herself at Silurian Spring. The
