The starting point is not too far from Milwaukee-Waukesha-West Allis, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often easier than in other states, so keep in mind that lots of rivers here are good for beginners. The nature scenery of Waukesha County and the playfulness of the water beats anything. This section is quite short so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. This is the only paddling section along Pewaukee River. There are nice
comfortable hotels here, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. A bit of exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are great attractions for lots of people. This section of Pewaukee River is 1.6 miles long and has been rated as a class I-II
section by American Whitewater. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way there are lots of good spots for that around here.

Silurian Spring is always fun to check out. During the warmest time of the year here at Pewaukee River, high temperatures ordinarily get into the 80's. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 60's.
High temperatures during the wintertime are normally in the 20's; throughout the dark hours in the wintertime at Pewaukee River temperatures sink to the 10's.
