The Petrifying Springs to Lathrop stretch of Pike River is 4.8 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class I(II) section. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. Getting a good workout and just being out on the river for a while are sure to keep you coming back for more. This stretch is mid length, it's good length for a morning trip. Since you're on this site you are probably into     whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way around here you won't find a large number of other spots. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Wisconsin are easier than the national norm, so better not forget that a lot of the rivers here are suitable for beginners. There are plenty of hotels here if you want to spend a night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Pike River doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the Petrifying Springs to Lathrop section is the only one.
