If you're coming from Racine it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while are sure to keep you coming back for more. The nature scenery of Wisconsin and the water flowing gracefully down Pike River make the trip here worthwhile. The campgrounds here at Pike River are pretty good. There     are no other sections to paddle along Pike River than the Petrifying Springs to Lathrop section. Lodging is available near the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. This is a pretty decent length section, you can easily run it on an afternoon. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so you'd better keep in mind that many of the sections here are safe for beginners.
