  The beautiful scenery of Wisconsin and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The Petrifying Springs to Lathrop stretch of Pike River is 4.8 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class I(II) section. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. Getting a good workout and just being out on the river for a while are sure to keep you coming back for more. This stretch is mid length, it's good length for a morning trip. Since you're on this site you are probably into
    whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way around here you won't find a large number of other spots. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Wisconsin are easier than the national norm, so better not forget that a lot of the rivers here are suitable for beginners. There are plenty
of hotels here if you want to spend a night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Pike River doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the Petrifying Springs to Lathrop section is the only one. The put-in is not too far from Racine, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost.
