Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Wisconsin is often easier than elsewhere, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many runs in this state are very easy. If you're coming from Iron Mountain it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. The scenic beauty of Wisconsin and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream make the trip here worthwhile. There are plenty of other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. This stretch is
short so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. A bit of exercise and just hanging out with mother nature have a lot of people coming here. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill
up quick. This stretch of Pike River - North Branch in Wisconsin is 3.2 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II-IV section of whitewater. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling rivers. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby.
