The wonderful Florence County scenery and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water beats anything. If you're coming from Iron Mountain it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, as you can see on the road map further down. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. This is not the only paddling section in this river system, there are others too. Not too many hotels nearby,     you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more forgiving, so better not forget that lots of rivers here are good for beginners. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good rivers for that around here. This stretch has has enough mileage, good for a one day paddling trip. A bit of exercise and just being out on the river for a while will make you glad you came. Briefly about the general area: Pine River gets a typical amount of yearly precipitation; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain, and the driest month is February. For the period of the summertime at Pine River temperatures are regularly in the 70's while nighttime lows are   typically in the 50's.
