This section of Pine River in Wisconsin is 9.2 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class I-II section. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Wisconsin is often easier than elsewhere, so if you're not from around here don't forget that lots of rivers here are good for beginners. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling places. If you're     coming from Iron Mountain it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. This stretch is mid length, good for a one day paddling trip. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. There are plenty of other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. A good workout and spending some quality time in nature will have you coming back for more. Briefly about the general area: Pine River is a good spot of typical precipitation; August is when you get the most rain here, and February is when it's the driest. During the warm days   of summer here at Pine River, high temperatures typically get into the 70's. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 50's. During the wintertime the highs are regularly in the 10's, and winter nights come with lows in the-10's to Pine River.
