If you're coming from Merrill it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. The Center Rd stretch of Pine River in Wisconsin is 2.2 miles long and is a class I-II section of whitewater     according to American Whitewater. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way there are lots of good places for that around here. This section is quite short so better bring some good walking shoes. Great exercise and just hanging out with mother nature have a lot of people coming here. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. This is the only paddling stretch along Pine River. There are plenty of hotels here if you want to spend a night, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Briefly about the general area: Pine Dells is a good site to explore while in the area. From a rainfall point of view Pine River is a relatively normal site; through September this area sees the most rain, and the driest of the months is February. High temperatures at Pine River   during the warm days of summer are in the 80's, and the night is a little cooler of course, frequently in the 50's. Daytime highs during the wintertime are in the 20's with winter lows in the-10's overnight here at Pine River.
