Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good spots. The beautiful scenery of Wisconsin and the cool fresh water beats anything. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often easier than in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many of the rivers here are not very demanding. This is a     pretty decent length section, suitable for an afternoon trip. The beauty of the Gogebic Range is a great plus for this river. There are a few other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 20's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Potato River.
