The beautiful scenery of Iron County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling rivers. Getting a good workout and just being out on the river for a while are sure to keep you coming back for more. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Wisconsin is often easier than elsewhere, so     don't forget that the rivers in this state are less demanding. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, you can easily run it on an afternoon. The river winds through the Gogebic Range and you get great scenery. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. This river system has a few good paddling stretches and the Upson Falls to Foster Falls section is one of them. The slopes of Whitecap Mountain are so inviting nobody can resist.
