This stretch of Potato River is 7.2 miles long and is a class I-IV section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good spots for that around here. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is     often easier than elsewhere, so if you're not from around here don't forget that many of the sections here are safe for beginners. This is one of a small number of paddling stretches in this river system, there are a few others too. The wild scenery of the Gogebic Range is great. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination.
