The wonderful Shawano County scenery and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream beats anything. This stretch has has enough mileage, you can easily run it on an afternoon. A good workout and just being out on the river for a while will have you coming back for more. The Lower Red Lake Dam section is one of a few paddling sections in this river system. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the     river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of places for that. There's camping available near Red River. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Wisconsin is often easier than elsewhere, so keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are pretty easy.
