Gasser Road section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.
CLASS III-IV 1.8 miles
The scenic beauty of Wisconsin and the cool fresh water have people coming here. The Gasser Road section of Skillet Creek is 1.8 miles long and has been rated as a class III-IV section by American Whitewater. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Wisconsin are often easier than in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are pretty easy. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. There are some good hotels near the river, but do book a room before you come because it
is a very popular destination. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a pretty small number of paddling places. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just hanging out with mother nature will have you coming back for more. This section is quite short
so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. The put-in is not too far from Baraboo, as you can see on the road map further down.
