  The beautiful scenery of Burnett County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water attract people from near and far. The Nelson's Landing to Snake River Confluence section of St. Croix River in Burnett County is 8 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class I-II section. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often easier than elsewhere, so keep in mind that rivers here are not as hard as elsewhere. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up
    quick. Getting a good workout and spending some quality time in nature have a lot of people coming here. There are a few other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. The campgrounds here at St. Croix River are pretty good. This stretch has has enough mileage,
good for a one day paddling trip. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way around here you won't find a large number of other rivers.

Briefly about the general area:
For the duration of the summertime highs here at St. Croix River reach the 80's while nighttime lows are commonly in the 50's. Daytime highs during the wintertime are in the 10's with temperatures at St. Croix River dipping down into the-10's during winter nights.
St. Croix River gets a normal amount of precipitation; all through the month of June you get the most rain around here; the driest of the months is February.
