This section of St. Croix River is 8 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class I-II section. The Nelson's Landing to Snake River Confluence section is one of a few paddling sections in this river system. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations you might     end up sleeping in your car. Getting some good exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are great attractions for lots of people. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way around here you won't find a large number of other rivers. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, it's perfect for a one day trip. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. The scenic beauty of Wisconsin and the water flowing gracefully down St. Croix River will make you feel great. Briefly about the general area: Summer at St. Croix River arrives with high temperatures in the 80's. During the moonlight hours it's frequently in the 50's. During the wintertime the highs are frequently in the 10's while the cold winter nights at St. Croix River are in the-10's.   St. Croix River is a good spot of normal rainfall; most of the rain falls through June, and February is the month with the least moisture.
