Otherwise you'll be dragging your canoe over rocks. But it's very wild and remote. There are also old copper mines along the river if you know where to look. The wonderful Wisconsin scenery and the cool fresh water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. Great exercise and a chance     to spend some time outdoors are great reasons to come. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Wisconsin are easier than the national norm, so better not forget that many runs in this state are very easy. This is the only paddling section along Totogatic River. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this is an area with not too many other places for that. This stretch is mid length, it's good length for a morning trip. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp.
