If you're coming from Merrill it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, as you can see on the road map further down. Getting a good workout and spending some quality time in nature will make you glad you came. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick.     Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling spots. Trappe River doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the to Rocky Ridge Road stretch is the only one. This stretch is mid length, good for a one day paddling trip.
