The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Wisconsin are often more forgiving than in other states, so keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are pretty easy. The beautiful scenery of Wisconsin and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. There are a few other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. Getting some good exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great reasons to come. Forks in Wisconsin is 7.6 miles long and has been rated as a class II-III+(IV) section by American Whitewater. The beautiful Gogebic Range scenery is an added bonus. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem and if you
make reservations in advance you're all set. The campgrounds here at Tyler Forks are pretty good. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling rivers. On this section you do get some distance, suitable for an afternoon trip.
